Our product knowledge and plastic card printing expertise helped one of the nation’s largest food retailers expand their new fuel and food rewards program.
One of the nation’s largest food retailers announced the expansion of their new fuel and food rewards program. Rewarding customers for purchases at any of the retailer’s 112 store locations, the rewards program requires a plastic-type card customers can swipe in order to redeem their savings. Initially, the retailers’ commissioned cards were produced from a material that would cause the cards to become immovable from the point-of-sale (POS) causing damage to the card and the gas pump POS system.
- Provide a feasible, compliant solution quickly and within client's budget.
- Held initial discovery meeting with the client to understand the program and setbacks associated with current rewards card
- Identified that client’s current rewards cards were produced from Teslin, a material that may contain inconsistencies when separated from the substrate during production, which can cause cards to become wedged when inserted into gas pump POS systems, making them irretrievable.
- Subsequently, identified the need for a durable card so images and barcode remain intact when swiped multiple times.
- Provided the client with a cost-effective, suitable solution made from a PVC die-line material that meets ISO standards and manufactured under the same guidelines as American Express®, Discover Card®, MasterCard® and Visa®
- Assisted client with creating additional marketing program collateral including paper applications affixed to rewards program cards and more than 750,000 direct mail pieces notifying customers of the rewards program launch; included introductory letter, application, two key tag cards and fuel card.
- The client is now able to offer high quality rewards cards to customers with confidence that the cards are compliant and durable.
