    Print-on-demand solution proves to be a winner for national retailer

    Our web-to-sheet capabilities fulfilled a critical need for a leading U.S. consumer electronics retailer. A newly designed, personalized signage program was being rolled out and the retailer needed a consistent and reliable print partner.

    Challenge:
    With over 1,100 store locations, the retailer sought a solution for updating in-store price tags and signs driven by  weekly price changes. The client required a pre-printed “shell” inventory of 18 different sign SKUs which then would be imprinted by each of their retail store locations. Taylor was selected as the print partner, required to develop a project plan, print, package, ship and provide back-up inventory within a six-week time frame in order  to effectively meet the national roll-out deadline

    Goals:

    1. Reduce warehousing costs for sign stock.
    2. Reduce print- and freight-related costs for price tags and sign stock that are shipped weekly to each store location.
    3. Build a usage history to effectively project and fulfill future store demand.
    4. Capitalize on economies of scale in manufacturing the printed product.
    5. Select a “best in class” vendor with a proven track record of smooth, large scale program implementation
    6. Reduce production costs related to setup, printing and lettershop

    Taylor Solution:

    1. Provide the client with sign stock and additional inventory by their national roll-out timeline and with zero errors.

    Results:

    1. The first order of sign stock totaling over 26 million pieces was delivered to the client in less than six weeks while achieving the other key client goals outlined above.
